Objectives:
The course is conformed to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and the requirements set by the Centre of the Greek Language for the Greek Language Certification (Ellinomatheia).
– Knowledge of the basic communicative level of the Greek language;
– Ability to use the Greek language in the A1 level of communication using the proper pronunciation;
– Understanding of sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance;
– Ability to communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters;
– Ability to describe in simple terms aspects of their background and matters of their immediate environment.
Program:
Lessons will completely be held in Greek.
The aim of the course is to help students to learn to communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar topics and activities. They will learn how to handle very short social exchanges. Also, they will learn how to use a series οf phrases and sentences to describe in simple terms their family and other people, living conditions, their educational background and their studies. At the same time they will acquire basic information about Greek history and culture.
During the first courses students will learn the Greek alphabet and its pronunciation, basic vocabulary and basic elements of grammar and syntax so that they will be able to read short texts and speak in Greek as soon as possible.

– Students who have attended at least 75% of class hours may obtain a course completion certificate.
