Last December 6, the President of IICS Prof. Federico Pirrone, held at the Pontificium Institutum Altioris Latinitatis, at the Salesian Pontifical University in Rome, a conference entitled “Quantum ponderis qualemque fortunam methodus directa in lingua Latina docenda habuerit”.
The intervention was held entirely in Latin and directed to the students of the UPS enrolled in the three-year and master’s degree courses in Christian and Classical Literature, along with several PhD students and some professors of that University.
The intervention summarized some key moments in the history of the teaching of Latin in ancient and renaissance age, highlighting also important aspects related to the teaching of the classical languages of our day.
For further information, we invite you to read the article (written in Latin) dedicated to the event that appeared on the UPS website.
