Ordinary Professors

Prof. Federico Pirrone

After completing his Maturità Classica, Federico Pirrone graduated with honors from the University of Studies of Rome “La Sapienza”, with a degree in Philology, Literature and History of the Ancient World.
He obtained, with the highest grade, the PhD from the University of Navarra (Pamplona, Spain) discussing his dissertation “Theoretical and historical bases of the applacation of the inductive-contextual method to the teaching of Latin language“.
He teaches Latin language and literature at the University of the Holy Cross in Rome. He is also lecturer of Classical language teaching and Latin composition and of Medieval and Humanistic Latin literature at the Pontificium Institutum Altioris Latinitatis of the Salesian Pontifical University.
He principally focuses his studies on the history of the pedagogy of Latin and on medieval Latin historiography in the Anglo-Saxon world.

Prof. Alessandro Agus

After completing his Maturità Classica, Alessandro Agus graduated with honors from the University of Studies of Rome “La Sapienza” with a degree in Philosophy and the History of Philosophy.
He taught History and Philosophy in high schools and is presently a Latin language lecturer at the Santa Croce University in Rome.
He not only deals with medieval and political philosophy, but also with Latin syntax and composition.

Dr. Leonardo Chiocchetti

After completing his Maturità Classica, Leonardo Chiocchetti graduated with honors from the University “Roma Tre” with a degree in Philosophical Sciences. He also excelled in the two-year cycle of studies at the Italian Institute for Classical Studies.

Dr. Daphne Grieco

After completing her Maturità Scientifica, Daphne Grieco graduated with honors from the University of Studies of Rome “La Sapienza” with a degree in Latin Paleography. She also excelled in the two-year cycle of studies at the Italian Institute for Classical Studies. She currently is a PhD student in Texts, traditions and book cultures at the Southern Higher School of Naples.
She mainly deals with the handwritten tradition of Latin texts from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.

Prof. Flavia Farina

After completing her Maturità Classica, Flavia Farina graduated with honors from the University “Roma Tre”, with a degree in Philosophy. She achieved her PhD in Ancient philosophy at the Roma Tre – Tor Vergata University and at the Sorbonne Université in Paris.
She principally focuses her studies on ancient philosophy and Hellenistic Greek.
